Purple crocus blooming among green shoots and decaying leaves in an Edmonton garden at Beltane

Bright Beltane Blessings

Today is Beltane, the Celtic cross-quarter day that marks the midway point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice.

Although spring arrived in many parts of the northern hemisphere with the equinox, Beltane has always seemed closer to the true start of spring here in Edmonton.

The snow has melted again, and maybe, hopefully, for the last time until fall. A few days ago, this beautiful crocus in my front garden was the first clear sign that spring had arrived.

I am still full of the beautiful and supportive energy from gathering in circle for the Spring Full Moon Wisdom Circle tonight, and I wanted to share this crocus with you.

Seeing her emerge from the decaying leaves that surround her feels like a perfect symbol of spring energy: new life rising, beauty returning, and beginnings unfolding from what has already been released.

May the energy of spring infuse you and support you as you walk your path of expansion.

Bright Beltane blessings.
