This morning’s new moon solar eclipse provided a powerful threshold moment of release and new beginnings, with it’s invitation us to pause and feel into what our inner wise woman knows is ready to emerge. What a way to finish eclipse season, with it’s intense energy of chaos and opportunity.
Perhaps you are feeling this invitation too, the quiet sense that something is ready to be released so that something new can begin?
It is the classic Alberta spring, we had a big snowstorm for the past few days, calling winter back for one more curtain call. On Wednesday the snow had melted everywhere but the backyard, but now everywhere I look there is a blanket of 6 to 8 inches of beautiful, sparkly new snow. The light and fluffy kind, so the branches and fences are covered as well, and beautiful swooping waves and developing as the snow melts off the edges. It looked like everything had been wiped clean. Winter’s dirty snow and ice has been replaced with fresh un-compacted snow, that hasn’t been weighed down by anything yet.
I took it as an encouragement to pause and feel into what else I could release, what patterns, beliefs, energies, that are no longer my truth are holding me back as I prepared for the new moon, the start of another turn in the Spiral Dance of Life, with it’s ongoing rhythm of release, renewal, and becoming that we cycle through through again and again.
New moons are for setting intentions. They provide an opportunity to get focus on our intentions, what we are calling in, what experiences we want to have in the next month, and the next 6 months when the moon is full in the same sign astrological sign.
Even though it looks like winter, I know that the spring equinox energy is still with us, supporting us with the energy of creativity & growth. It seems appropriate to be birthing Wise Women Gathering at this time of new beginnings. I am leaning into the maiden energy as I call in the wise women, my soul sisters, the divine right people to come and celebrate the moon and play and explore and laugh together; and I am calling in ease and grace as I craft this website – relearning WordPress after quite a number of years, has me scratching my head at times.
I am open and curious to see how this new moon cycle, with the moon in Aires, will show up. I am sitting quietly with what is beginning and what is ending, trusting this next turn of the spiral.
And if you feel called to walk these cycles in community, you are warmly welcome to gather with us in Moon Wisdom Circles.
