What is Sagescence?
Sagescence is the passage through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. It is the Wise Woman turn of the spiral: the autumn threshold after the outward fullness of the Mother season.
The hormonal rhythms that began at menarche and shaped our monthly spiral dance with the moon begin to shift. As they do, the energy that may once have poured outward into nurturing, tending, adapting, and caring for others can begin to turn inward again.
Sagescence offers an invitation to pause and reflect.
Why ceremony matters
Many of us moved through adolescence without ceremony, simply trying to understand our changing bodies and the rush of becoming.
Many of us moved through matrescence, whether literal or symbolic, while caring for others, creating, working, and holding so much together.
The Sagescence Ceremony offers an opportunity to step across this threshold consciously.
What we will honour
Together in circle, we will gather the harvest of lived experience, honour our motherline, and release what no longer serves to create space for the feminine knowledge, wisdom, and power available in this turn of the spiral.
This is not a ceremony of loss or decline. It is a ceremony of reset, reclamation, healing, and return: a gentle act of rematriation, returning to the body, the motherline, and the wisdom of the Wise Woman within.
In the sacred space of circle, our own inner wisdom and the wisdom that emerges when we gather with intention can open space for healing for ourselves, our ancestors, and future generations as we honour the deep knowing that becomes available in the Wise Woman season.
