I am a mother, daughter, sister, teacher and friend. I know the magic that happens when women gather with intention. I am connected through the motherline all the way back to the first ancestor. I choose to approach my days with gratitude, wonder and laughter.
In my heart I am still a curious confident girl walking barefoot through tree-lined fields, picking wildflowers and listening to the songs of the seasons.

Now that I am a post-menopausal, empty-nester I have the time and space to dig into the Divine Feminine and how I can use my understanding of the divine archetypes of maiden, mother and crone to not just view the seasons of my life and the seasons of the year and the phases of the moon.
This winter was leaning into the crone with curiosity and delight. Now I am leveraging the energy of spring and calling on the maiden as I launch Wise Women Gathering.
In the mothering years I was focused outward as I supported others. I shifted my attention from the seasons tracked by the moon to the activities on the family calendar. I hiked in the mountains, played with my kids in the Atlantic and Pacific, but I lost the deep connection I used to have with nature.
After caring for others and putting their needs first for a long time, I had the time (and privilege) to reclaim my sovereignty. I turned inwards and reconnected with the wide-eyed girl I was before I focused my circle of care on others. I slowed my breath, developed a more mindful approach, and released some of the things I was holding that I realized I didn’t need anymore.
I started to hear the quiet voice of my intuition again. Reconnected with the divine feminine by celebrating the cycles of the moon; weaving in what I have learned, my experiences, wisdom from my teachers and collective wisdom, and what we can learn from mama Gaia, our beautiful Mother Earth when we pay attention.
I choose love over fear; celebrating everyday miracles, messages and magic on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River as it flows through Edmonton, Alberta in Treaty 6 Territory and the Metis homeland.
Women gathered in community weave our own kind of magic through personal myth making and the power of collective wisdom. Gatherings are opportunities to learn about and celebrate the transitions of the seasons and harness their potential for initiation and transformation through community and ceremony.
