Embedded in ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (Amiskwacîwâskahikan) Treaty 6 Territory, in Edmonton, Alberta, along the North Saskatchewan river where I live, work and play are the histories, cultures and traditions of diverse Indigenous peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Metis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway, Saulteaux, Anishinaabe, Métis, Inuit, and many others. I express my deep respect and gratitude for their stewardship of the land since time immemorial as I strive to be a good ancestor to my children’s children.
